Special Guest - Joyee Flynn

-So, I adore your Marius world and love all your minor characters… Out of all of them why did Clove get his book next?
After his scene in the Christmas book I knew he would be soon. I just chose him randomly to be the one to defend Damon and then that line came up about him being willing to fight for his mate every day of his life and I had an “awww” moment. He needed to find his mates more than the others in my mind.

-As authors, we know that our main characters all have some piece of ourselves in them. What piece does Clove have of you?
He tries so hard to do the right thing and it just always seems to blow up in his face. And it’s not like he dreams of or wants anything all that crazy or unreasonable. He just wants simple, to be happy, find love, and get some peace in his days and it just always seems to go so wrong.

-Tit for tat… What is it about the minor characters that are his mates you love best?
Kinkade is so used to being the boss and pretty much the Alpha, set in his ways, total top, and has serious issues in his past with Kappas. But none of that stops him from being what his mates need and busting his ass to get over his crap and past to make things work so they’re both happy even though he barely knows them. I know there’s going to be some people out there who still don’t like him but I adore him. He’s a man’s man, but not the stereotype. He puts everyone else first and doesn’t have a selfish bone in his body.
Jordy might be the most understanding person in the world and it’s a quality I wish I had more of. He’s not ever even mad at Kinkade for his issues… He just wants to help. A person just has to have a pure heart to be that truly good and I wish there were more people in the world like that who gave to others instead of trying to see what they could get for themselves always.

-What’s next for the series?
Elan’s coming up for release soon and in Clove’s story I introduce some new wolves and open some doors. In Elan’s I friggin throw open a massive gate to lots of new fae characters and what’s coming in their side of the coven. Other than that I have some contenders on who’s getting books soon but right now I’m focused on the Omegas. I think I know which character is next but I don’t want to say until I’m sure. I always reserve the right to change my mind. But there is lots more to come, that I know without a doubt.

Clove Sutherland is due for release from Siren Publishing on May 30th and can be purchased here.

Blurb:
It’s always important to Clove to support the people he cares about. So when Elan asks for a favor, he agrees… Which leads to them backing up Caven on an interview.
Waiting with the people closest to him for the Alpha his friend Mareo talked him into meeting, Kinkade Wolfram is floored when he smells his mate among them.
Jordy was trying to fit in with his new pack by working for Caven and ends up at Clove’s new house because of it. Unfortunately, Kinkade hates everything that is a Kappa and refuses to acknowledge Jordy as his mate.
Torn between them, Clove has to figure out how to make his family whole before his heart is broken. Can Kinkade get over his issues with Kappas and see his past for what it really was? Or will three individuals fated to be mates end up as two separate couples under the same roof?

Excerpt:

“Why did you flinch?” Damn. I knew this was going to come up.
I refused to lie to my mate, but when I was going to ask that we discuss this later I saw the deep concern in his eyes and I couldn’t let him worry. “We’re doing this right in front of the man I’ve been seeing. I’m blessed and grateful to have found you but I can’t help but be concerned for him. He’s a good man.”
He nodded and swallowed loudly. “Do you love him?”
“Yes, but my heart is not his.” He raised an eyebrow at that. “We love each other but we’re not in love. He means a lot to me.”
“Then there is room for me.” He gave me a wolfish smile, pun intended, and rolled gracefully to his feet. He didn’t make me feel as short as Elan did, only being five inches taller than my six three. Wow. I’d really have to stop comparing him to Elan or making everything about my fae lover… Especially since Elan was humping the smaller wolf into the ground. “Get off my little brother!”
“What?” I gasped, glancing from my mate to the man I was involved with moments ago. “Your brother is mating my lover?”
“You’re involved with Elan?” Virgil asked with big eyes and then whistled. “Wow. Good thing we brought you with to meet the wolves.”
“Hey, they just closed the deal,” Caven snickered. “I’m thinking fruit basket with an arrangement of sex toys for the happily mated couples. Well, Elan gets another one of course.”
“So do I,” I admitted.
“What?” several people exclaimed.
“Vampires only get one mate,” Kinkade growled as he cornered me against a tree. We’d met in a forest preserve Kinkade and Mareo had dealings in before because it gave us cover and wouldn’t be crowded at night. It seemed it also gave us soft grass for my mate to ravage me on and trees to pin me to. “Explain immediately.”
“I can’t,” I stuttered, his ferocity both worrying and exciting me. “It’s just the way it’s always been in my family. All of my relatives have two mates.”
“How can that be, Clove?” Virgil asked gently.
“I don’t know,” I answered, glancing at my friend. “How do the O’Hagans have twins? We just do. The Sutherlands have two mates always.” I searched my mate’s eyes. “I’m not lying to you, I swear. I would have brought this up more gently but when Caven mentioned Elan having another one because he’s fae, it would be like lying to me not to have fessed up right then.”
“Yes, I agree,” he said after a moment, giving me a swift nod. “My mate is honorable. I am pleased and shall make sure you are rewarded well tonight. Let us see our new home.” He rubbed his hand against my hip suggestively as he glanced at Caven. “Alpha, I speak for my brother and I when I say we accept though I cannot speak for the others. Can we gather our things later?”
“Whatever makes the brother of my mate happy,” Elan said as he stood with the small wolf in his arms. “I am the one who opened the portal. I will gladly bring you back whenever you like.” He approached us slowly, ignoring the dual growls as he reached out and cupped my cheek. “Clove, my dear, I will treasure our time together always. You have become so important to me and not in only the ways of the bedroom, though I will think fondly on those times as well.”
“Me too,” I whispered, blinking back tears that wanted to form at the idea of no longer having him in my life. “We don’t have to stop being friends, right? You get me, Elan. I don’t want to lose that. It’s been so long since I’ve had a person I felt I could be myself with always.”
“No, we won’t stop being friends. We’re each a mate of brothers,” he chuckled, brushing my cheek. “And you will always have a special place in my heart as the friend who led me to my mate, helped me reconnect with my brother, and eased me into life on your world again. Almost five thousand years I’ve lived and it seemed I just needed to find the friend named Clove to lead me to my most precious of gifts.” He dropped his hand and stared down at his mate.
“I’m Kermy,” the little wolf said as he extended his hand to me. “I’m cool with you guys being friends as long as it’s not naked friends and you don’t hug or really hang around the full moon. We get way too possessive then and it might go bad.”
“I understand. Thanks, Kermy.” I shook his hand, giving him an honest smile.
“If you guys are coming, we’re with you. We’re not breaking up the band,” one of the other French wolves joked.
“We’re going to have a band in the pack? That’s awesome!” Caven exclaimed excitedly.
“They weren’t being literal, my love,” Gabriel mumbled, trying to let his mate down easily. But like Caven, he took it in stride.
“Oh, well, we should still look into that. It would make the parties way more wicked if we had our own wolf band.” He shrugged and glanced at Elan. “I’m hungry again. Portal home? You’ll bring them all back later to get their stuff? I’ll find them housing. I’m sure Ayden and Darcy have rooms if they want to stay with the majority of the pack or they can buy one of the development houses or Elena offered them a few of the suites for the ones I pick as Betas so they’re close.”
Kinkade shot me a look and went to open his mouth but I shook my head. I could explain to my mate later.

Adult Excerpt:
“Is it true that vampire mates bite during oral sex and it is a high like no other?” he asked, his gravelly, growly voice going even deeper.
I licked my lips and nodded. “I have heard that. I’ve not done it. It’s something most tend to save for their mates, but yes, I know mated couples who swear it’s the best oral sex on the planet.”
“I am too wound up for our first round to be our claiming sex,” he hedged. “I do not wish to dishonor how much I want this with being a three-pump chump as I hear Americans call it.”
“I should help you with that then,” I purred as I ran my hands up his thighs. “I hear werewolf blood not only makes us horny bastards but it’s an endorphin rush so I won’t be nervous or tighten up on you for when you shove this pole into me. A sip might be a good idea as I suck you down.”
“The mouth on you,” Kinkade growled. “Put it to good use.”
“Yes, my mate,” I hissed as I licked the tip of his cock. Then I swallowed as much of him as I could down as I massaged his sac. Kinkade snarled and I shivered at the sound. He grabbed my head, but not too roughly, and fucked my face, careful not to shove his cock down my throat. I used my other hand to wrap around the base of his cock to keep from going to deep.
“Yes, Clove. Yes! This is what I’ve dreamed of. Always this pleasure with my mate. So good. Already there.” When his sac drew up and I felt him start to shake, I sank my fangs into his cock. Kinkade bellowed my name as he shot down my throat, his seed and his blood mixing into a delicious cocktail I would be addicted to.
The second I retracted my fangs and pulled off his cock he leaned over and picked me up and dragged me on the bed, grabbing the lube I’d dropped as well. He inserted his larger frame between my legs and slicked up his still-hard cock, gasping for air.
“Need a minute there?” I teased.
“No, need you,” he snarled. “Never been so fucking turned on in all my life.”
“Really?” I felt my eyes go wide at that. I got the feeling Kinkade was far from a pup and probably had experienced a lot. He froze for a moment before growling loudly and moving his unslicked hand to pin my wrists over my head as he pushed two fingers into my hole. I screamed in pleasure and spread my legs wider. Then he moved so we were nose to nose.
“I do not exaggerate, tell fibs, say what I think you want to hear, or will ever inflate your ego, Clove. Do you fucking understand?”
“Yes, my mate,” I moaned as he shoved his fingers into me furiously over and over again. “You enjoyed the blow job I gave you.”
“Enjoyed it does not even begin to describe what I felt.” He gave me that wolfish smile again. “I would beg often to feel that again. Do I strike you as a man that begs, Clove?”
“No, no you don’t. You’re a man that demands what he wants. Maybe takes it if he knows he’s welcome.”
“Smart man. For that blissful pleasure I would beg.” He tilted his head and stared at me carefully, his thick, chocolate hair with the light brown highlights falling into his eyes. “Would you deny your mate if I begged and offered you pleasure in return?”
“No, never, Kinkade. I wouldn’t even make you please me in return. I would offer it to you freely just to make you happy,” I blurted out, being completely honest with him as I offered a piece of my heart to him. I saw hope fill his eyes and joy.
“Which is why I will fall deeply in love with my strong, honorable, and tender mate,” he whispered. “How stretched do you like to be?”
“That’s enough. Please take me,” I begged. “Please? I want to feel you inside of me, Kinkade. I need us to be one. I’m scared this won’t work with the three of us. I want to know we can work.”
“I will do everything I can to get rid of my demons, my mate. For you I will do my best,” he swore to me. I nodded as he pulled out his fingers and moved my leg over his hip. He lined up his cock and pushed inside my barely prepared hole. I screamed out in pain, loving it, and Kinkade mashed his mouth down to mine, swallowing the noises I made. He grunted as he forced his cock into me, needing to be one with me as much as I did.
I whimpered and arched into his body and he knew what I wanted, releasing my hands. Normally I would have loved for him to keep me pinned down like that but not our first time together where we were claiming each other. I wanted to feel and touch every inch of my new mate. I fisted his hair with one hand as my other hand traveled down his back. He moved my other leg over his hip as well and I wrapped them around him.
Kinkade thrust hard and forced his cock all the way inside of me, getting another deep scream from me. He shook at my need and I knew we were perfect in our desires, matching up exactly with what we wanted. My ass barely got a few moments to adjust to the invasion before he started fucking me like a madman and with the sip of his blood I’d had, I was all for it, lifting my hips to meet his.
We fucked like animals, our bodies saying everything we didn’t even know how to voice.

Special Guest - Gabrielle Evans

A small-town girl from southern Oklahoma—we are talking one red light that may or may not work depending on the day of the week—Siren-exclusive author Gabrielle Evans believes in taking chances and pushing boundaries.

Gabrielle’s best-selling series are driven by her belief that everyone has a happy ending waiting to happen, even if it’s found in a seemingly unconventional way. When she’s not busy writing her next anxiously awaited book, she’s living her own happily ever after, married to her high school sweetheart. For now, she parks her car in central Indiana, but who knows what tomorrow will bring.

Greetings and Salutations!

First, a huge thank you to Toni for graciously agreeing to host me today! I hope everyone is looking forward to a fabulous week. I have a lot on my plate these days, but I’m finally starting to get caught up! For Haven fans, don’t forget that Haven 8: Four-Letter Words released last week from BookStrand. For Kindle and Nook users, it should hit Amazon and B&N in about 4 weeks!

HAVEN 8: FOUR-LETTER WORDS

Zasha Gershwin lives a rigidly controlled life. He doesn’t see anything wrong with being prepared and organized, and he certainly doesn’t have time for such frivolous things as love. He cares for Thane, and he’s certainly attracted to the witch, but that’s just how the mating bond works.

While his mate may not remember their previous life together, Thane Braddock has no trouble recalling every moment, right up to their tragic end. Now, he has a second chance to make everything right. Unfortunately, he’s making all new mistakes this time around.

Evil lurks to the west, spreading its shadow across the desert, and the races hover on the verge of war. When the Braddocks are called to answer the rising threat, Thane and Zasha’s turbulent relationship will be pushed to its breaking point. Can they rekindle the old flame before it’s too late? Or is history destined to repeat itself?

Other than my ongoing series like Haven and The Moonlight Breed, I’ve been working on some very special projects over the last few months. The first one, I can’t say much about yet, but it’s going to be unlike anything I’ve ever written before. Look for Uncommon Valor coming late September or early October from Siren-BookStrand!

I have a few other things in the works as well that I think everyone is really going to enjoy. The one I’m most excited about right now, however, is my new venture with Jana Downs. Welcome to Purgatory should be hitting the virtual shelves December 2013, but it’s more than just a series. Don’t believe me? Check out the site and take the tour!

Blurb:
Still suffering from nightmares due to the abuse he endured at the hands of his previous Alpha, Tommy Morgan is trying to come to terms with life and a newly found mate.
The last thing Benjamin Taylor, Panneath Alpha of Australia, expected to find was his other half, bloody and broken at the hands of another Alpha. Now months later Ben is more than happy just to sit at his mate’s side while he gets his life together again and begins to accept their mating.
Threatening e-mails though, set to put a hold on their happiness as someone wants revenge for the death of Alpha Kegan Wallis.

Excerpt:

Tommy grunted once again as Gregory and Barry’s fists met his flesh. He gritted his teeth refusing with everything he had to let the scream that desperately wanted out passed his lips. He could feel his flesh split again and again as they continued to work him over. All the while his Alpha—the one man he should have been able to count on to protect him—paced back and forth, shaking his head when Tommy refused to answer any questions about his brother’s whereabouts.
“Tell me where he is and this can all stop.” Alpha Wallis nodded in the direction of his Betas and they took up the fight once again.
Tommy could feel the tears slipping down his cheeks as he was pummelled over and over again. He bit down so hard on his lip he tasted blood when a well-placed shot to his side had him hearing—and feeling—a rib or two breaking under the barrage.
It wasn’t fair. Even if he did know the location of his brother there was no way he would give it up after everything Declan had said to him. Tommy still didn’t know exactly what had happened between his brother and his Alpha to cause the man to run but whatever it was—by Alpha Wallis’s reaction—it wasn’t good.
Tommy’s arms ached from where they had been tied above his head. The cuffs binding his hands to an adjustable chain hanging from the ceiling were cutting into his wrists. Tommy could feel the blood slowly dripping down his arms. He was stretched until he was forced to stand on tip toes in order to be able to get a small measure of relief for his arm.
His entire body throbbed in pain. He didn’t think there was a single area that hadn’t been intimately introduced to the fists of the Betas. The blows were a constant barrage, never seeming to stop for very long. Tommy could feel the swelling around his left eye and the split to his lip.
He would have shifted had he not been in so much pain and strung up like a Christmas turkey. The cuffs around his wrist were too tight, and due to the pain currently wracking his body his wolf had curled up in a corner. Only an Alpha could get him to shift in his current state and he highly doubted Alpha Wallis was about to do that.
“Tell me where the fuck I can find Declan,” the man practically screamed at him, small amounts of spittle flying from the corners of his mouth.
Tommy resolutely kept his mouth shut. He wasn’t in any fit state to answer the man’s questions, not that he would of if he could.
All of a sudden blinding pain seared through his body radiating upwards from his leg. He had no idea what the hell they had done but it was successful in finally getting something to pass Tommy’s lips. He screamed.

Tommy sat bolt upright in bed, his heart pounding frantically as he tried desperately to cut the scream off that was currently pouring from his mouth. His body throbbed with the remembered pain of the blows he’d endured at the hands of his previous Alpha and Beta’s had caused.
The sheets below him felt damp with sweat, the acrid smell of it penetrating his sluggish brain.
Slowly his heart beat and his breathing began to return to normal. It wasn’t until a couple of minutes had passed that he noticed a body sitting on the bed beside him. His heart rate increased again, suddenly pounding out a staccato rhythm in his chest, fear gripping him making it impossible to move.
The deep, soothing, whispered words finally registered and Tommy started to relax again.
“Shh, pup, everything’s going to be okay, you’re safe now. No one is ever going to hurt you again,” Ben murmured over and over.
The deep rumble of his mate’s voice calming his body faster than anything else possibly could. Tommy knew the man was his mate. He had figured that out a couple of weeks after he had woken up at his brother’s house. Yes, it had taken him some time, but he finally was able to recognise what he was feeling for the big strong man for what it was. This didn’t mean he was ready to jump into bed with Ben, far from it.
Ben seemed to understand this fact and never pushed. It was times like these that endeared the man to him all the more. He sat beside Tommy on the edge of the bed with a cool damp cloth wiping over his sweat soaked skin, his other hand rubbing soothingly along his arm. The touch alone bringing him more comfort that he really wanted to admit to at that moment. All the while that deep sexy voice whispered words of safety to him helping to combat the remembered fear and pain that had been almost overwhelming.
Tommy knew Ben had taken to spending most of his nights in one of Declan and Liam’s spare rooms, even though the man must have had a house of his own. Tommy hadn’t seen it so he was just assuming. Whenever Tommy woke in the middle of the night Ben always seemed to be there, by his side, to help calm him back down. Tommy wasn’t entirely sure how many times he had flinched away from the large man in fear, and honestly thought the bigger man must have the patience of a saint to still be here, night after night. He was grateful though.
“Better?” the soft rumbly growl came from beside him.
Tommy nodded his head, not sure if his voice would work at the moment or not. Tommy reached out tentatively and placed his hand gently on Ben’s forearm. He needed the connection at the moment. Just that little bit of added touch had waves of peace and calm trying to crash over him. He knew it was Ben’s doing but he wasn’t about to complain.
“Come on, pup. Let’s get these sheets changed so you can try and get some sleep.” Ben stood and clicked on the light on the bedside table. Tommy blinked furiously as the light assaulted his eyes. He should be used to it by now; they seemed to replay this same scene a few times per week. Ben reached down and helped untangle Tommy from the sheets that had wrapped themselves around his body several times over by the feel of things.
Once he was free Ben offered his hand to assist him to his feet. Still feeling rather shaky from the dream Tommy wasn’t about to turn down the help.
Tommy stood in front of Ben, his eyes level with the man’s massive naked chest. If it was one thing he had learnt in the last several months it was that Ben never slept with a shirt on, just a pair of silk sleep pants.
He watched enthralled as the chest rose and fell with every breath Ben took. He wanted to reach out and touch, to trace the dark brown nipple in front of him, to tangle his fingers in the chest hair that covered the large muscled upper body. But he couldn’t do it. Hopefully with a little more time he wouldn’t feel so…so… broken.
Almost as if Ben could read his thoughts he cupped Tommy’s cheeks in his enormous hands and tiled his head up. The larger man bent down and placed a gentle kiss to his forehead. “Why don’t you go have a quick shower and wash away all that sweat? I’ll change the sheets and then you can crawl back into bed.”
Tommy desperately wanted to reach up to the place that Ben’s lips had touched his skin. It wasn’t the first time he had done it and Tommy doubted it would be the last. Even still, a small thrill rushed through his body each and every time Ben kissed him.
Ben stepped back and allowed Tommy to exit the room so he could shower. As soon as he walked in to the hallway he could feel his brother’s presence. He looked to the right and sure enough standing at the end of the hall leaning against his door jamb to his room was Declan, looking tired and sleepy, his hair sticking up all over the place.
“Everything okay?” he asked, rubbing at his eyes.
“Yeah, I’m really sorry I woke you again. I’m just going to take a quick shower. Go back to sleep, Declan, I’ll see you in the morning.”

Visiting today - Jess Buffett

Fellow Aussie author Jess Buffett has stopped by to share with us her latest release. Please welcome Seth Hall from Always Been You, who has kindly agreed to be interviewed.

Tell us a bit about yourself:
I’m a dad of two awesome kids, and a baker. I’ve just opened my own bakery here in Newport. It’s the first time I’ve been home in 11 years, and I‘m really excited about getting it up and running.

Tell us something not many people know about you:
Well...people are only just finding out that Lucas and Ally (my kids) are actually my biological children. I think everyone just assumed when my friends were killed, they had left their children to their best friend and the kids godfather. But no, they're mine.

Wow. How did that happen?
You really want me to go into specifics *snicker* No, really though, Shawn was unlucky enough to contract mumps while we were at college. it left him unable to have children. It kind of made sense, you know? It was the closest I would get to having children, they were my best friends, and I love all of them. So yeah, I agreed to help.

What do you dislike the most?
Things being kept from me. I’m discovering there have been a few things kept from me over the years...and I don’t know...I think maybe it would have made things so different.

Favorite music?
I’m more of a Maroon 5, Bruno Mars kind of guy. But I can be occasionally caught listening to Pink.

What’s it like to be back home?
Um...it’s been great being near my parents. And the neighbours have been fantastic.

But?
But...I just ran into someone the other day. This person is from my past and there are a lot of unresolved issues. *snorts* Not that it stopped us from practically making out like teenagers, and me agreeing to go on a date.

Do you believe in true love?
I’d like to, but if I were honest, there has only been one person I have ever loved. And things didn’t go too well when we were younger.
How are you dealing with having a Jared back in your life?
Ah, so we're going to name the someone, fair enough. Jared is and always will be a complicated topic with me. I guess we’ll just see how it goes. A lot can change in eleven years, but it’s amazing how many things can stay the same.
Which is stronger, love or fear?
I’m hoping love, but fear can be so damn consuming.
Where can we find out more about you?
My story comes out May 4th with Silver publishing. By the end of it, I should have a real answer for your questions about true love, and love vs fear.

Book blurb:
Seth Hall returns to his hometown for the first time in eleven years. Now a father of two, he vows not to let his past intervene when he sets up a happy, stable life for them. That is, until Jared, the boy who had broken his heart all those years ago, turns up wanting a chance with him.
Jared Stewart thought he had lost his only chance to be with Seth. When Seth finally comes home, Jared makes it his mission to catch Seth once and for all but unfortunately not everyone wants that to happen.
Will they be finally able to make a life for themselves together? Or will they be torn apart again, by people they thought they could trust?

Short author bio:
Hmmm, what can I say about myself...I was born and raised in New South Wales, Australia. I married my highschool sweetheart and we live on the Central Coast with our two children. I am absolutely a hopeless romantic who loves stories about true love that sizzle with a happy ending (which is probably a good thing given what I write). I'm a huge fan of M/M and M/F romance—anything with hunky men in all their glory, whether they be Shifters, Vampires, Cowboys, or the boy next door. I'm a firm believer in soul mates, happily ever afters, and in love at first sight, but that sometimes people need a second or a third for the brain to catch up.
