Dealing with the Past, book 2 in The Thompson Agency series is now available for pre-order from Silver publishing HERE
Release day: March 23

Blurb:
Aiden Montgomery’s lover died unexpectedly at work. His boss, Noah suggests he go to the Thompson Agency to help him say goodbye. What Aiden didn’t expect was to run into someone from his past. Someone he never wanted to set eyes on again.

Jackson Thompson has worked hard to change his ways and attitude towards others. When his most recent client refuses to work with him he’s baffled as to why. Finding out Aiden is his mate throws Jackson for a loop, realising he’s the same person Jackson bullied in High School could mean the end to his mating before it even began.

But someone doesn’t want Aiden’s ex raised from the dead.

Excerpt:

Jackson Thomson sat at his desk, slowly working his way through the unending pile of e-mails currently clogging his inbox. His last appointment for the day cancelled so he found himself with an unexpected amount of free time on his hands. It was a welcome reprieve after all the work he had been doing recently. Considering he was part of the family business, free time was valuable and needed to be used wisely.
Being a necromancer meant Jackson didn’t keep regular office hours like most people. There was no way in hell he would be getting up to go into the office at eight in the morning after spending god knows how many hours in a cemetery the previous night. He could raise three or four people per night though. However, he was limited to fifteen minutes of being able to converse with them before his power started to give out on him, unlike his brother.
Jackson just recently found out that he wasn’t anywhere near as powerful as his youngest brother, Jayden. Jayden had raised his mate’s brother and allowed the pair to talk and write a book for the entire night almost. This had also gone on nearly every night for a month. Jackson had been both angry at his brother for keeping his ability from his family and in awe of what his baby bro could do.
Jackson needed roughly an hour of time between appointments so he could recoup his powers. So, Jackson usually got to work sometime between nine and ten then left about four in the afternoon. This, along with spending anywhere between three and five hours in a cemetery most nights had him feeling exhausted ninety per cent of the time and was usually the reason behind his foul moods.
He had tried to sleep during the day, before he went to the cemetery, but he’d ended up with a headache every time and that left him feeling out of sorts. So instead he slept after he was done for the night. Jackson usually managed to crawl into bed somewhere between one and two most mornings, if he was lucky a little earlier.
He knew his exhaustion had been one reason behind the way he’d treated Jayden when everything had come to light earlier in the year. That and the fact his baby brother had found his mate when Jackson had been looking for his for the past ten years. He hadn’t thought it fair that Jayden seemed to get everything. All the power and a mate. Jackson knew he had been a complete and total ass to his youngest brother. However, his mouth had just seemed to run away from him before he could even think about what was coming out of it. His jealousy and envy had burned hot and bright and unfortunately resulted in the vitriol that had spewed forth from his mouth.
Jackson knew he had hurt Jayden, hell, apparently he’d been doing it unconsciously for years. That little fact had knocked him for six. Jackson had always been Mr Popular in school, he was good at any sport he tried and had always found classes and study easy. He supposed this had allowed him to get a rather large ego and apparently, an attitude to match. The fact that his baby brother had come out of left field and announced he was more powerful than Jackson had smarted a little and helped fuel his emotions.
Causing any of his family pain was unacceptable to Jackson and finding out he’d been doing it for years hit him hard. After Jayden had been shot—when he’d accidentally raised six murdered women, something Jackson still had trouble wrapping his mind around—Jackson took time to talk things out with his brother afterwards. Jayden had been hesitant at first, which made Jackson's heart ache that he’d hurt Jayden so badly he hadn’t really wanted to talk with him.
Thankfully Jayden’s mate, Noah, had encouraged Jayden to listen to what Jackson had to say. They had talked for hours, along with their other brothers, and managed to resolve a lot of their issues. Jackson couldn’t say things were perfect, as it had only been a few months, but he now knew the way Jayden had viewed him for years. Therefore, he could fix the problem. Things were a great deal better than they were and, hopefully with time, they would continue to improve.
Jackson cringed when he remembered the dressing down his mum had given him and his brothers over their treatment of Jayden and even Noah. He knew things must have gotten bad for her to get involved. Jessica Thompson was sorely outnumbered by men in their family. Eight to one was not good odds anyway you looked at it. But Jackson thought his mum and dad had done a fantastic job raising him and his six brothers. With so many boys under one roof, there were bound to be fights. His mum and dad had allowed them to work out their differences themselves, only stepping in when they thought it was truly needed.
It'd been needed this time. Jackson hadn’t even been aware of the way he and the rest of his siblings were treating Jayden.
He was glad Jayden had found his mate and Noah was a good match for his baby bro. The man was protective as hell and had no trouble telling Jackson exactly what he thought of him. Thankfully, as Jackson and Jayden had worked through their issues, Noah thawed towards him.
Jackson shook his head, trying to get his mind back onto the job in front of him, but it didn’t seem to be working. His brain felt foggy from lack of sleep and staring at the computer screen was doing nothing but straining his eyes.
He had just come to the decision to pack up and leave a little earlier today, and hopefully get some shut eye before his first appointment at the cemetery tonight, when there was a knock on his door.

A Bear in the Woods Excerpt:

Vincent Marsden didn't think he'd had a worse day in his entire life. He now understood exactly why he preferred driving over flying anywhere. It had all started three days ago with a conversation with his best friend, Mandy.
"You need a break," Mandy's usually soothing voice screeched down the phone line at him.
"No, I don't," Vincent replied.
"Yes, you do. I can do this all day until you finally give in and agree with me. I hope you realize this." The self-satisfaction in Mandy's voice was not lost on Vincent.
Vincent thought he might try a different tack. "I can't afford to go anywhere right now. I have to write." Vincent had hardly written a thing in the last month even though he had deadlines looming and edits he needed to return. He just couldn't seem to bring himself to do the work.
"Oh yeah," Mandy said in that tone that always made Vincent cringe. "Just how much have you written lately?"
Damn!
"Yeah, that's what I thought. Now, as I said, you need a break."
Vincent knew Mandy could be stubborn when she got an idea in her head, but he could be just as stubborn. "Mandy—"
"Stop!" Mandy sighed. She sounded so put out it made Vincent smile. "As much as you might hate this, I know you, Vincent Marsden. You need a break. You're run down; you haven't had a vacation in three years, not since you caught that prick, Jamie, screwing the bellboy in your hotel suite." Oh yeah, what fun that had been. Vincent didn't want to think about that now, though.
"Mandy, I really can't afford to go on a vacation right now." Vincent thought he'd give one last-ditch effort to try and get Mandy off this subject.
"I know. That's why I've taken the liberty of booking your vacation for you." The smugness in her voice really wasn't very nice.
"You what?" Vincent asked incredulously.
"Look, you know I got a nice inheritance when my grandad passed away six months ago. That money's not doing anything at the moment but sitting in the bank collecting interest."
"Mandy I can't let you do that." Vincent sighed, exasperated. "God, you're a pain in my ass."
"No I'm not. I have the wrong parts for you."
"Eww. I don't even want to think about your parts. How the hell did we start talking about your girly parts?" Mandy laughed and Vincent smiled at the sound. As big a pain as his friend was, he did love her to bits.
"Just lucky I guess. Now back to the hot topic. Namely, you on a vacation." Mandy snickered at Vincent's groan.
"I'm not going to win this argument, am I?" Vincent asked, resigned.
"Nope. Now listen as I tell you where you're going and what you're doing." Mandy sounded so superior Vincent wanted to reach through the phone and strangle his best friend.
Mandy had booked him a cabin in the Smokey Mountains for a week of relaxation. Vincent wasn't sure how much relaxing he could do as a young gay man in the middle of Tennessee and told Mandy so. She told him to stop trying to find excuses not to go.

For your chance to win a copy of this wonderful (if I do say so myself) Anthology simply comment. I will draw the winner next Thursday.

Guest Today - Silvia Violet

Cowboys and shapeshifters are two of my favorite things so when an idea for a series involving shapeshifting cowboys popped into my head, I couldn't run with it fast enough. Arresting Love is the second book in my Wild R Farm series. The farm is owned by half-breed werewolf, Coleman Wilder. In book 1, Finding Release, while Cole is fighting to save the love of his life, horse shifter, Jonah Marks, Cole's barn manager, Billy, comes out as gay and confesses that he's had crush on Cole for years. But despite his feelings, Billy is happy for Cole and Jonah even if he's afraid he'll never find love like they have. Arresting Love is Billy's story.

Arresting Love (Wild R Farm 2) by Silvia Violet

Blurb:

Billy Lawson is jealous. Every day he watches his boss, Cole, and his boss's lover, Jonah, prove again and again how deeply in love they are. Billy's never had a real relationship, and he didn't believe true love existed until Cole proved otherwise. Now, he longs for what Cole and Jonah have.

When he meets Levi, a scared, wounded shifter who needs his help, he ignores the chemistry that flares between them, thinking he'd be taking advantage of Levi at a vulnerable time in his life. Before Levi can convince Billy they were made for each other, his past catches up to him, and both men must fight for a chance at love.

Excerpt:

The crazy cuckoo clock his boss's lover had rescued from the farmhouse attic began to chirp, signaling the start of a new year. Cheers went up from the hands, and Billy watched his boss, farm owner Cole Wilder, pull Jonah to him for a kiss.
Billy took a pull from his beer and tried to make himself look away, but he couldn't keep from staring as Cole staked his claim, seeming to devour his young lover. Jonah gave back as good as he got, and Billy's cock stirred in his pants. The two men were beautiful together.
When Cole finally pulled back, the look on his face made Billy's chest ache. No one could miss seeing Cole's love for Jonah. They had a bond that was strong as steel, and Billy was jealous.
Four years ago when he'd been hired as barn manager at Wild R Farm, Billy had developed a crush on Cole, but he'd quickly realized Cole would never see him as more than a friend. He'd accepted that. He treasured their friendship, and he'd never forgotten that Cole had given him a chance when he could have hired someone better educated with years more management experience. But watching Cole and Jonah together made him long to connect with someone. Having a man look at him the way Jonah looked at Cole would be a taste of heaven.
Billy drained the rest of his beer. That line of thinking would do nothing but depress him. He needed to be thankful for what he had. The chance of finding the kind of love Cole and Jonah shared was nearly non-existent. He was starting another year doing a job he loved on a farm where he didn't have to hide the fact that he was gay. Considering he'd been kicked out by his family at seventeen, he'd done a damn fine job of pulling his life together.
It wasn't in his nature to be morose, but he’d be turning thirty this year, and he was getting tired of living in a bunkhouse, no matter how much he enjoyed the company of the hands he shared it with. He was weary of men who wanted nothing more than a hard, rough fuck behind a trailer at a horse show. He wanted a home and someone to share it with. Age was making him soft.
He stepped onto the farmhouse porch and took a breath of the chilly night air. He shivered, but he'd rather be out here than in the crowded house especially in his current mood. He leaned against the porch railing and listened to the rush of water in the stream that ran behind the house as he tried to push his depressing thoughts away. One of the horses whinnied, and he wondered if going for a midnight ride would help.
"What you doing out here?" Cole asked, stepping out on the porch and letting the screen door slam behind him.
Billy shrugged. "Just gettin' some fresh air."
Cole frowned. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, you know I don't like crowds."
Cole snorted. "Me either. I'm about to get rid of everybody since we've rung in the New Year. This whole party thing was Jonah's idea. I had a much better plan for the night, but he wouldn't listen."
Billy forced himself to smile. "I'm guessing your plan involved Jonah naked and flat on his back."
Cole grinned. Then he narrowed his eyes and studied Billy. "Are you sure you're all right? You've been grouchy for weeks now."
Billy raised his brows and looked pointedly at Cole.
"Yeah, yeah. I'm grouchy all the time. I know it." Cole said.
Billy rolled his eyes. "Damn temperamental wolf."
Cole snorted. "I'm better than I used to be, now that I've got Jonah." As soon as those words came out, Cole tensed.
Jonah's brother, Nathan, had kidnapped Jonah, drugged him so he had to remain in horse form, then sold him. Fortunately, he'd ended up at Cole's friend's horse sanctuary. As Cole and the rest of the crew at the farm fought to keep Jonah safe, Billy ended up in a fistfight with Nathan. In the aftermath, Cole finally realized Billy had hoped for more than friendship between them. Fortunately, Cole hadn't freaked out, but he was still sensitive about talking to Billy about his relationship with Jonah. Billy wished he'd just get over it.
"You're right. Jonah's been good for you." Billy clapped him on the shoulder, and Cole looked his way, tension easing.
"You should take some time off," Cole said. "With planning the addition to the barn and new horses coming in, you've been working non-stop for weeks."
That was true, but when he was working, Billy didn't feel lonely, and he didn't have time to be jealous of Cole. "I don't mind. I'd rather be working with the horses than doing anything else."
Cole frowned. "When was the last time you left the farm?"
Billy shrugged. "I don't know. I went into town a few weeks ago."
Cole raised his brows and glared.
"I'm fine. Really."
"You need a vacation."
Billy shook his head. "I'm happy here. There's nowhere else I want to go."
He'd spent his late teens and early twenties wandering, finding work where he could, never staying anywhere long. Now that he had a place he felt safe and accepted, he never wanted to leave.
Cole leaned closer and sniffed. It had taken Billy a while to get used to Cole's werewolf habits, but now he took such things for granted.
"Something's bothering you," Cole said. "I can smell it."
"I'm just keyed up. It's probably the barn addition. I want to be sure I've got all the details right before we break ground."
"You need to relax," Cole insisted.
Billy scowled. "The last thing I need to is sit around on my ass. You know I can't stay still long."
"Maybe you need to learn how. You're taking a three-day weekend starting next Friday, and I won't listen to any complaints."
Three whole days to think about everything he didn't have instead of concentrating on what was right in his life. "Where the hell do you expect me to go?"
Cole frowned. "I don't know, but I'll figure it out and let you know."
Billy glared at him. "You're not sending me on a trip."
Cole growled. "The hell I'm not. Consider it a bonus."
